Sacred Space
Sacred Space is what we consciously create in order to thrive. How do you define your work? Your purpose? Yourself? What is the tone or environment you align with? Does it serve you or harm you? Do you hold a space to be highly valued and to highly value? Are you consciously extending great respect or reverence in thought, word and deed?
Something becomes sacred because you choose it to be. If we invest in it above all else, sacred space is the internal condition that meets or exceeds our most grand vision and deepest piece. Whatever you believe, you’re right.
I consult with organizations and their leadership to create an environment so healthy its members or employees can’t help but feel inspired, valued and validated. It is potent and valuable work. Recently, I had a very challenging assignment. I was tasked with restoring faith and function between the two key individuals sharing leadership in a small company. I spent considerable time preparing for this conversation and, yet, was nervous about it until I remembered that nervousness and excitement are the exact same energy. The only difference is the perception of the experience.
I immediately decided it would be very wise to change my mind! I became excited, relaxed into this sacred knowingness and invited my team to align. The energy in the room shifted, lighten and transformed. The meeting and the results exceeded expectations and we all were grateful for the experience.
Whatever you believe, you’re right. See friend, the simple truth is that you are a sacred space, if only you realize it. You are the method and magic, the conduit and conductor that heals and transforms this world, no more and no less than the person next you. What a beautiful thing. When we align according to this divine aspect, collectively we will change ourselves and this world forever.
One of the most profound pieces of advice I have ever heard was to reserve a place inside yourself that is untainted and untouched by nothing less than reverence. This is the place where silence lives. The place where restoration begins and resumes moment to moment, with each breath. This is the place where we meet God, the beloved, the all-knowing, and remember the truth and wisdom of life when it speaks to us, through us and for us.
If you reserve this space within, so clean and pure, so nothing dishonest can enter or reside, you will be “love on legs” in this world. Is this not profoundly needed? Both for yourself and your community?
When we align with sacred Space Holders as well the effect is exponentially more. I am affiliated with an organization called Peace Across the Planet and as such, I am an Intent Holder for a giant stone buddy named Grandfather. He is a 4400 lb., 9ft black shiva lingam naturally shaped in the Narmada River of India. He is the ultimate space holder! The math we have been given is that 1 person opening their heart, aligning their sacred spaces and intent with unconditional love has the ability to neutralize more than 450,000 people choosing violence (most often against self…).
You want to know how to change the world? Heal your heart. Get silent, go in and find the truth of you, and then move through the world from this space and all will be well, of course.
