Elimination & Drainage
Elimination and Drainage is about appropriate detox. Meaning, the body naturally has the capacity to seek out toxicity, and intelligently and effectively remove it in order to maintain health.
The primary pathways of elimination for this purpose are: liver, lungs, kidneys, lymph, and intestines. The health and function of which are vital for maintaining function for all bodily processes, for example: immune, metabolic, digestive, cognitive, cardiovascular and mental health. If you have symptoms in any of these areas it is likely that your body is compensating due to toxic load in your primary pathways of elimination. For example,
- Waking each night at the same time. 3:00 am speaks to a liver/gall bladder issue.
- Not having a bowel movement with each meal consumed per day. Most people believe, if they are having a single bowel movement per day they are not constipated– this is not accurate. You should be having one bowel movement per meal. If not, the food consumed is decomposing in the gut and a likely beginning of just about any disease process.
There is a problem with your body's ability to utilize its designed primary pathways of elimination when: you live with chronic sinus congestion & headaches; you experience skin irritation or acne; you have irregular or painful menstruation; you have frequent hot-flashes; you experience consistently disrupted sleep–just to name a few. These are things that are "normal" for most people. But, according to the design of the body, these are definite imbalances in the function and effectiveness of the body's primary pathways of elimination and therefore are clogging the secondary pathways of elimination (skin, sinuses & reproductive organs) leading to these disruptive and uncomfortable symptoms.
Remember, the body is a flow system designed to heal via cellular communication, nourishment and the cleansing of toxicity and metabolic bi-products. If the primary pathways are clogged, function will diminish and toxicity and waste products will back-up, clogging and affecting the secondary pathways of elimination. When the body is clogged it cannot repair, regenerate or rest.
Theoretically, this is what you should understand:
- It starts in the digestive tract. If your digestive system does not work, your liver will become clogged.
- If the problem with the digestion persists, with an inability to break things down properly and eliminate, your lungs, kidneys and your lymphatic system will become clogged– filled with toxic sludge.
- Once they are filled to capacity, the secondary pathways of elimination (skin & reproductive organs) will show signs of stress.
- When they are full to capacity, systemic inflammation has set in throughout you body and biochemically the weakest, most vulnerable areas (determined by genetics, chronic stress, activity level, life style choices, etc) will become the next accumulation sites for toxins. The bio-terrain in those areas will change from healthy to degenerative and a disease process will follow.
Ex: If arthritis runs in your family and you have terrible digestion or a terrible diet, you can bet that you are likely on track to developing the same condition because you have not ensured the pathways of elimination are open in order to regulate your system toward health. Genetics are a very small part of the equation but they are a tipping point if all the other systems put in place to ensure health fail.
